How it works

From a village visit to medicine in hand

Medbridge is not a video-call app with a medical theme. It is the whole path a rural patient takes — registration, triage, consultation, prescription, dispensing — with each step recorded so the next person in the chain is not guessing.

  1. 1

A health worker registers the patient

A community health worker (CHW) visits the village and creates the patient record on their phone. The system issues a permanent medical record number so every later visit, vital, and prescription attaches to the same person.

  2. 2

Vitals and symptoms are recorded on the spot

Temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation go in alongside the complaint. The platform scores them against clinical thresholds and suggests a triage level — the health worker can override it, because they are the one in the room.

  3. 3

Critical cases alert a doctor immediately

When triage comes back CRITICAL, a doctor and the duty administrators are notified in the same instant the record is saved. Nothing waits in a queue for someone to notice it.

  4. 4

The consultation happens over secure chat

The doctor reviews the vitals, symptom history, and past consultations, then talks to the patient or the health worker in real time. Text works on the low-bandwidth connections rural clinics actually have — no video call to drop.

  5. 5

    The doctor issues a prescription

Medicines are chosen from a catalogue with live stock levels, so a doctor does not prescribe something the pharmacy cannot supply. Once issued, a prescription cannot be edited — only cancelled with a reason, which stays on the record.

  6. 6

The pharmacy dispenses and stock updates itself

Handing over medicine records what was given and decrements inventory in one step. Partial dispensing is normal, so the prescription stays open until everything has been supplied. Crossing a stock threshold alerts the pharmacist automatically.

Why it is built this way

Built for weak connections

Chat-first rather than video-first. A consultation completes over a 2G signal.

Records that cannot be quietly rewritten

Prescriptions are immutable, accounts are deactivated rather than deleted, and sensitive actions are written to an audit trail.

The health worker is part of the system

Patients without a smartphone are not locked out — a CHW carries the platform to them and stays in the loop afterwards.

Ready to start?

Patients can register directly. Doctors, health workers, and pharmacists are onboarded by an administrator.
